The intent of these policies is to create an environment that fosters effective learning and to encourage and strengthen proper social behaviors of students. All students attending any of MMCS’s classes are obligated to follow these policies and rules. The following are some specific inappropriate or wrong behaviors in MMCS:
Behaviors that can cause injury
Example:
Fighting
Climbing
Throw things at others
Chasing each other
Behaviors that can cause property damage
Example:
Climbing stairs/chairs
Playing around chairs, curtains, windows, equipments, etc.
Throwing thing around
Behaviors that can cause distraction or disturbance to class or others
Example:
Chatting / making noises in classroom
Leaving class without permission
Yelling / screaming in building
Creating mess in the building (classroom, hallway, etc)
Playing game or engaging activities not related to classes
Not listening to teacher, parent on-duty, or administrators
Not respecting others (using oral or physical language)
Other behaviors if deemed as inappropriate or unacceptable
Disciplinary Action Any behavior in conflict with these policies is subject to progressive disciplinary actions. The disciplinary actions range from verbal warning, written warning, suspension, up to dismissal. Disciplinary actions will be given based on severity of offenses. Serious offences such as physical fight or damaging school property may result in immediate school suspension and dismissal. Other offences will usually result in a verbal warning for first violation, a written warning with notice to parents for second violation, and immediate class suspension for third. After the third vilation, the school board will determine how long the student will be suspended and whether dismissal will be given.
All teachers, parents-on-duty, and MMCS School Board members are authorized to execute disciplinary actions.
MMCS has the right to interpret these policies. MMCS reserves the right to change the policies in the future when necessary. Questions related to the policy shall be directed to MMCS Board.
The policies are effective from September 27, 2003.
